Subaru Wilderness Vehicles in Grand Rapids Offer Off-Road Excitement
For those true adventurers around Grand Rapids, where we have access not only to nearby Lake Michigan, but also numerous campgrounds, parks and other outdoorsy sites, having the right vehicle to take you there, and navigate the sometimes bumpy, vertical and uneven terrain is a must. That's where options from Subaru and its Wilderness trims available on the Outback and Forester are able to help. We can provide you with more insight on these choices and give you the chance to test drive them at Fox Subaru.
What Are Subaru Wilderness Models?
In 2023, you still have two familiar Subaru models that offer the Wilderness trim option. With both the Subaru Outback Wilderness and the Forester Wilderness, you're getting a specialized option that provides added off-road capability and features. You already get Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard on these vehicles, but this gives you added ground clearance, and enhanced off-road driving modes, plus additional features on the inside and outside. This includes a water-repellant upholstery as well as the exterior offering a honeycomb grille design and Wilderness badging adorns both the exterior and interior. You also can find a larger touch display too, plus all the technology and safety features you're accustomed to on new Subaru vehicles.
Without further ado, let's go over the current Subaru Wilderness trim levels available in our Subaru lineup.
Subaru Forester Wilderness
With the 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness, you will find the style and features of the SUV known to many across Grand Rapids, with more off-road enhancements. This also includes the added ground clearance, bumping things from 8.7 inches to 9.2 inches, plus it has all-terrain tires and an enhanced X-Mode to get the right grip and power in multiple driving situations and conditions. With the revised fear ratios, you also will find climbing in your vehicle at low speeds an advantage, making it the right choice for anyone who is headed out on the trail to get out to some remote destinations outside our city limits.
The Forester Wilderness can also tow up to 3,000 pounds and has roof rails that can hold up to 800 pounds of static weight, meaning you and others can get up there and camp out or your can store items up there when you set up your campsite. It also features a wider liftgate to get in more outdoor items as well as new hood designs and other exterior cladding for a rugged drive.
Subaru Outback Wilderness
The familiarity of the Outback's design and dimensions are here with this edition, but there are features that set it apart. This includes bumping the ground clearance up from 8.7 inches to 9.5 inches. And the Outback Wilderness is fitted with off-road and all-terrain tires. It also uses a turbocharged engine which offers 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque for a responsive and potent drive. You'll also be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds. To climb up hills at up to a 40 percent grade, the Subaru Outback Wilderness has revised front and rear gear ratios to make it happen.
Additional features include strong roof rails which are able to support a rooftop tent for outdoor camping, plus you get a unique hood design that limits glare, while there's also a cargo lamp on the rear of the liftgate too.
