Subaru Wilderness Trim Levels Provide Added Adventure and Excitement

For those in Grand Rapids who drive Subaru vehicles, you know that they have a sterling reputation when it comes to being reliable, and able to handle some diverse terrain. There are current options that have features which help you like Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, more ground clearance than competitors, and drive modes like X-Mode for traction on bumpy terrain. Now, there's a trim that takes that and builds off it. The Subaru Wilderness trims, currently available on the 2022 Subaru Outback and Forester are available here at Fox Subaru, and we want you to learn all about them in greater detail.

Get to Know the Subaru Wilderness Vehicles

As of 2022, there are two Subaru Wilderness models. These are the Subaru Outback Wilderness, and the Subaru Forester Wilderness. They are specialized trims within each vehicle's lineup and offer up rugged features, which includes more off-road options to give your vehicle a better ability to traverse the terrain off the beaten path. Here in our area, there's lots to get out and explore, and with all seasons and elements, so these vehicles are appealing. Inside both of these vehicles, you're going to find exclusive materials with StarTex* water-repellent upholstery, a textured honeycomb design, and the Subaru Wilderness logo on the headrests. There's also standard technology with a larger touch display option for connectivity, and onboard safety which you know comes on all Subaru vehicles.

Without further ado, let's go over the current Subaru Wilderness trim levels available in our lineup.

Subaru Forester Wilderness

The Subaru Forester Wilderness offers many similar features to the Outback Wilderness. This includes bigger ground clearance with the Forester Wilderness coming in at 9.2 inches, along with all-terrain tires and enhanced X-Mode. It also offers revised ratios for better climbing at low speeds and has an upgraded towing capacity of 3,000 pounds. It too offers redesigned roof rails for up to 800 pounds of static weight, while also providing protective cladding on the wheel wells, unique accents and an anti-glare hood to give it that appeal off the beaten path. There's also a wider liftgate to fit in more items too.

Subaru Outback Wilderness

With the Subaru Outback Wilderness, you will find the same dimensions and size as the standard Outback you'd find at our dealership, but with a host of enhancements. That starts with added ground clearance, up from 8.7 inches to 9.5 inches, as well off-road and all-terrain tire options. You're also going to find a turbocharged engine which gives you 260 horsepower, along with 277 pound-feet of torque, plus 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. Additionally, there have been revised front and rear gear ratios, so that the Outback Wilderness can climb at up to a 40 percent grade.

You're going to find redesigned roof rails, which help support the weight of a rooftop tent, plus a new hood design with anti-glare, an LED cargo lamp on the rear gate,  and much more onboard for a true rugged experience.
